In the time it takes to ride an elevator, you should be able to tell someone your purpose for being placed on this earth and your vision for fulfilling it.  If you have an existing speech, come prepared to fine tune it and if you don’t come prepared to create one.

The Roanoke Rapids Public Library continues its “Enhancing Your Life:  Mind, Body and Spirit” series with the seminar “Beyond Broke, The High Cost of Illiteracy."  This seminar will be based upon the book "A Framework for Understanding Poverty" by Ruby K. Payne, Ph.D., which is considered by educators to be a classic.  As poverty continues to grip our community, let us come together for the purpose of improving our understanding of this serious issue.  

 

 

ROANOKE RAPIDS PUBLIC LIBRARY INVITES PUBLIC TO NEW SERIES

 

 

       The Roanoke Rapids Public Library, in its continuing effort to improve our community, begins a new series entitled “Financial Knowledge to Wisdom”.  For the purpose of learning, understanding and applying financial knowledge to everyday lives, Donna Clements, a former financial advisor with fifteen years experience and currently serving as a member of the Library Advisory Committee, will facilitate these sessions.  All matters regarding finances will be addressed including budgeting, investing, insurance protection, taxes, retirement and much, much more.  Professionals in the various fields of finances will also be invited to participate, guaranteeing that each session provide as much practical advice as possible.

 

       The Roanoke Rapids Public Library is committed to the enlightenment of all of the citizens of the Roanoke Valley.  Held in the Conference Room of the library and, as space is limited, reservations are highly recommended.  If you or someone you know, would benefit from the information to be presented during this series, please call 252-533-2890.  There is no cost for admittance to these most pertinent sessions but as space is limited, reservations are highly recommended.
